Tonight we have what is our largest and most difficult scenes to execute. We are expecting approximately 100 people on set tonight with all our key actors and extras coming, along with the Gisborne branch of the NZ police, the NZ Fire Service and the Redeemed Motorcycle Club riding down to be a part of the action.
To top this all off we have to make sure that we capture great shots of the fights and stunts as we only have this one chance… no pressure, it’s just a really big night and we are all a bit nervous.
Meeting together is the best thing to do to make sure that everyone is on the same page and really has a great handle on the night. A few concerned looks are featured here…
Michele treated us all to a delicious breakfast to make sure that everyone was fuelled for the big day! Great team bonding!
Once we were all fed and ready to go, we headed over to Fred Tate’s… so grateful for how accommodating the guys there have been letting us just have the run of the place!
As night fell the place started to fill up with people and the atmosphere was electric! Once everyone had arrived on set, we did a safety briefing and explained the plan for the night.
We started with the larger, wider shots, acting out the fight scenes which we had shot and choreographed in close-up the other night so that our extras wouldn’t have to stay for the entire night. We then scaled things down until we only had our key cast still there. It was so much fun having the cars there, the fire trucks and everyone watching the fights. So cool!
Amazingly we pulled it all off and got some great shots in the process. This is going to be very cool!
